ABOUT THE TRANS HEX BURSARY – FIELDS COVERED

Trans Hex is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2025 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in Port Nolloth or Alexander Bay (Northern Cape), for studies within the following fields:

• Crewing
• Engineering
• Environmental Management
• Marine Engineering
• Mining
• Nautical Sciences
• Other disciplines critical to mining operations including Mine Supply Chain

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TRANS HEX BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

• You must be a South African citizen or a resident in South Africa
• You must reside in Port Nolloth or Alexander Bay, in the Northern Cape province
• You must have completed Matric
• You must be studying towards a qualification within one of the fields listed above
• You must be passionate about a career in the maritime, environmental or engineering fields
• You must be dedicated to your studies
• You must be in financial need

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TRANS HEX BURSARY

(Insert the words “Trans Hex Bursary 2025” in the email subject line).

Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of documents below to apply.
 

Submit the following supporting documentation along with your email application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

• ID document (certified copy)
• Academic transcripts
• Proof of tertiary acceptance
• Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ proof of SASSA grant or pension if applicable)

30 April 2025.
