Kirstenbosch Scholarship South Africa 2024 / 2025
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – SANBI / KIRSTENBOSCH GARDENS
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is located at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town. The garden is one of ten National Botanical Gardens that span over five of the country’s six different biomes. These gardens are administered by the South African National Biodiversity Institute, formerly known as the National Botanical Institute.
The Kirstenbosch Gardens play an important role in the cultivation of indigenous plants, comprising a large conservatory, known as The National Botanical Society Conservatory. This conservatory consists of plants from various regions, including the savanna, karoo, fynbos, and more. Outdoors, the focus is on plants that are native to the Cape, demonstrated in the vast collection of proteas. It is a level four accredited Arboreta by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.
