Lesedi Nuclear Services are leaders in Power Generation, Mining, Oil and Gas. The companies history dates back to 1984, when it was previously known as Intens Engineering. Since it has evolved, Lesedi is now a leading engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) African company, with a long history in nuclear, industrial power, mining and oil and gas environments.

Lesedi is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2025 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded for studies within the following fields:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

MORE ABOUT THE LESEDI BURSARY PROGRAMME – EXPENSES COVERED, RENEWAL & SELECTION

Up to 5 bursaries will be awarded, which will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees (full or partial based on assessment), accommodation, prescribed textbooks and a monthly stipend. Payments made directly to the institution.

Bursaries are awarded for 1 academic year, with the potential to renew based on academic performance and company policies/ affordability.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LESEDI BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must NOT be older than 35 years
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards an Engineering qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
  • You must be currently enrolled or accepted to study at a recognised University or University of Technology in South Africa
  • You must have a strong academic record in Engineering studies
  • You must have a strong foundation in Mathematics and Physical Sciences
  • You must have a good understanding of Engineering principles
  • You must be computer literate
  • You must have good language proficiency in English
  • You must have analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • You must have technical aptitude
  • You must have research capabilities
  • You must have time management skills
  • You must have academic writing skills
  • You must be self-motivated
  • You must have strong work ethic
  • You must be able to work under pressure
  • You must be committed to academic excellence
  • You must have professional conduct
  • Preference will be given to: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students, children of Lesedi employees and employee referrals, previously disadvantaged groups, women in engineering and students living with disabilities
