ABOUT THE ORION BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
Orion Engineered Carbons is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2025 academic year.
Bursaries will be awarded to students residing within the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (Eastern Cape), for diploma/ degree studies within the following fields:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering

MORE ABOUT THE ORION BURSARY PROGRAMME – SELECTION
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by 10 January 2025 and invited to attend interviews. If you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Bursaries are awarded for one academic year and are renewable each year, depending on academic performance.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ORION BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must reside within the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality, in the Eastern Cape province
- You must reside within a previously disadvantaged area
- You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric (Umalusi)
- You must have achieved a minimum APS pass rate of 5 for Mathematics and Science in Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
- Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals
