ABOUT THE TRAXTION BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Traxtion is inviting students to apply for their TraxWAGON bursary programme, for the 2025 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to disadvantaged female students, for National Diploma studies within the following fields:

  • Boilermakers
  • Diesel Mechanics
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Fitters and Turners
  • Mechanical Engineering

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TRAXTION BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be a female
  • You must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • You must be in financial need and not have funds to pay for your studies
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards a National Diploma within one of the fields of study listed above
  • You must be studying or accepted/ enrolled/ registered to study at a TVET College in South Africa, that is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)
  • You must have achieved a minimum average 60% (minimum C or D symbol) in your final Matric results
  • Preference will be given to: students with an excellent academic record
  • Preference will be given to: students who are orphans and/or child headed families
  • Preference will be given to: students who reside in areas where Traxtion has a footprint (North West, Free State and Gauteng) – however, students outside of these areas may also apply

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TRAXTION BURSARY

Applications must be submitted online at: Traxtion Bursary Application 2025

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric latest results/ certificate
  • Full academic record, if currently studying (certified copy)
  • Proof of TVET College registration/ acceptance (on a letterhead)
  • Proof of address
  • Recommendation letter by a community leader, school principal or lecturer in the institution where you are registered – this will be considered in support of your conduct in school/community or any other institution of learning
