ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – ISACA
ISACA is an international professional association focused on IT (information technology) governance. The company was originated in the USA, when workers on auditing controls in computer systems identified a need for a centralized source of information and guidance in the field.
Since the organisation began awarding scholarships in 2022, they have granted $1 million in funding to 500 students from underrepresented tech backgrounds, paving the way for careers in IT audit and cybersecurity.
For the 2025 academic year, ISACA is expanding the program with over 170 scholarships, supported by ISACA chapters and corporate partners across over 20 countries, furthering diversity and career development in IT audit and cybersecurity.
ABOUT THE ISACA SCHOLARSHIP – FIELDS COVERED
ISACA is inviting students to apply for their Chapter Scholarship, for the 2025 academic year.
Scholarships will be awarded for undergraduate and postgraduate degree studies, within the following fields:
- Computer Science (BSc)
- Information Systems (BCom)
- Any other technology related qualification

MORE ABOUT THE ISACA SCHOLARSHIP BURSARY
6 scholarships will be awarded – 4 to undergraduate students and 2 to postgraduate students. Scholarships will be awarded to the value of US$1,000 each, to be paid directly to the awardee in July 2025 and must be used for 2025 study fees.
Students will also receive a ISACA Career Building Bundle, which includes the following:
- 1 year of ISACA student membership (to allow you access to career pathway and advancement events and webinars)
- 1 ISACA course selected from the ITCA or CET certification (which will help you get an ISACA certificate that indicates a standard of skills to a prospective employer, after completing the course)
- 1 ISACA Virtual Conference registration (to allow access to speakers who are renowned experts in their fields)
- ISACA’s Mentorship Program (to allow access to certified digital trust professionals as mentors)
- Resources to start an ISACA Student Group at your university or college (as applicable)
- Access to additional ISACA and ISACA Foundation resources
The selection process will be completed in June 2025 and awards will be presented in July/ August 2025.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISACA SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must be studying towards an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, within one of the fields of study listed above
- You must be studying at an institute of higher education in South Africa (including TVET, University or University of Technology
- You must be a member of an underrepresented community in IT (including race, gender, ethnicity, veteran status, disability, etc)
- You must sign up a free ISACA account
- You must agree to attend at least 1 chapter event within 3 months of receiving the award
- You must agree to communicate with the ISACA Foundation twice a year for 2 years regarding school and career trajectory after the scholarship

- Full academic record
