Elsen Academy Legacy Trust High School Scholarship South Africa 2024
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – ELSEN ACADEMY
Elsen Academy is a non-profit independent school, located in Port Elizabeth. It was first established by three women (two of which are still Directors at the Academy), who identified a need for a school that allowed children with educational limitations to succeed.
In 2006, Elsen Academy was established from the Sunday school classrooms at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, opening its doors to 13 pupils.
To date, Elsen Academy consists of a Primary School (Grades 1 to 7), High School (Grades 8 to 12), and Vocational School (skills versus grades).
ABOUT THE ELSEN ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
Elsen Academy is inviting students to apply for their high school scholarship programme, for the 2024 academic year.
This Legacy Trust Scholarship award is aimed at students residing in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), who are entering Grade 8 to Grade 10 and living with special needs (which includes, but is not limited to: dyslexia, ADHD, ASD (Autism)). Through this, the academy hopes to aid the learners in their academic pursuits, exposing them to an environment that embraces their needs.
In celebration of the school’s 20th anniversary, Philippa Fabbri and Katherine Liebenberg (two of the original founding members) have established the Elsen Academy Legacy Trust. The Trust’s main objective is to provide assistance to parents who are struggling financially, and are in need of schools for their children living with learning barriers.
Through this, the Trust hopes to assist high school students, allowing them to benefit from a more persinalised educational approach and learning environment.
