ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROVIDER – EKAPA
Ekapa is located in Kimberley in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. Ekapa Mining owns Ekapa Resources and Ekapa Minerals. Ekapa Resources owns the underground mining rights and Ekapa Minerals owns the surface mining rights. It is operated as one entity and is made up of 5 units: Joint Shaft, Wesselton, Combined Treatment Plant (CTP), Surface Mining and Services and Support.
ABOUT THE EKAPA APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME
Ekapa is inviting candidates to apply for their external apprenticeship. The company is seeking students who have completed an N2 and are interested in pursuing a career in any of these skilled trades: Auto Electrician, Boilermaker, Mechanician, Diesel Mechanic, Earth Moving Mechanic, Electrical, Fitter & Turner, Rigger Ropesman.
Candidates will be trained over a period of 3 years, which will also include theory training at an accredited Mining Qualifications Training Centre as determined by Ekapa.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 30 days of the closing date – if you do not receive any feedback by this time, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
Before final selection is made, shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a technical aptitude evaluation. They may also be required to participate in pre-screening, profile testing, assessments, medical and security clearance, and thereafter, a formal interview.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE THE EKAPA APPRENTICESHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must have completed an N2 Certificate
- You must be interested and suitably qualified to be trained in any of the above trades
- You must enjoy working with your hands
- You must be disciplined and self-motivated and committed to completing the programme
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy
- Preference will be given to candidates who reside within our host labour sending area or Francis Baard District
- Preference will be given to internal candidates
